Lucas did the research. There were many miles traveled and many drinks drank, but 160 distilleries, three college courses and a few dozen books later we learned a valuable lesson: craft distillers should be weary of making their own vodka. In an effort to make a neutral, tasteless, spirit, bigger is typically better.
So, we turned to the fine distillery at the Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company, owned by farmers just 32.4 miles from our still to theirs. Using grains from Stearns, Pope, Swift and surrounding counties, we are proud of the spirits our neighbors make and we can share with you after redistillation and Redhead Creamery.
