Cheesemaker or Lead Cheesemaker

Type: Full Time

Reports to: Lead Cheesemaker or Company President

Primary Duties:

  • Cheese Production through each step of the process, from flowing milk to Pressing

  • Participation in routine cleaning, sanitation, record keeping and Food Safety

  • Managing assistant cheesemakers, and making sure that food safety and cheese quality needs are met

  • Ensuring that washing, turning, caring for aging cheese is being done correctly

  • When needed, helping in our packing room, to cut wrap and package cheese for wholesale.

  • Working with the Head Cheesemaker directly on Production schedule, ongoing product development, process improvements and co- managing. 

  • Responsible for reporting production deficiencies, food safety issues and quality issues

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Cheesemaking or milk and cheese chemistry experience is preferred but not required

  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, cleaning, sanitizing, or Food Safety is preferred

  • Significant physical strength and endurance, including the ability to lift 50+ lbs comfortably. Includes long days, on your feet, in both hot and cold environments. ( make room and coolers)

  • Team player who wants to work hard, collaborate and make amazing cheese. Interest in continued education and food safety is a plus. 

  • Open minded, and able to work well with others, including guiding or correcting team members.

Office Manager - Full Time

Job Description

Redhead Creamery is currently accepting applications for a full-time retail staff position. The shift will run Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 4:30pm; with flexibility. We are seeking an organized and proactive Office Manager to oversee daily administrative operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our office. The Office Manager will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, supporting staff and leadership, comfortable with constant change and maintaining a productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support-

  • Handle daily administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating office communications.

Office Management-

  • Oversee office supplies, equipment maintenance, and facilities management to ensure an efficient workspace.

Human Resources Support-

  • Assist with onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel records, and coordinating training and development programs.

Customer Service-

  • Provide exceptional service to customers and vendors, handling inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.

Event Coordination-

  • Assist and organize company events, meetings, and community outreach activities to promote Redhead Creamery.
  • Reporting and Documentation

Maintain accurate records and generate reports as needed for management review.

Our Desired Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in office management or administrative support.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office management software/Google
  • Business applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles preferred.
  • A passion for the dairy industry and sustainable practices is a plus.

Cheesemonger/Retail Manager- Full Time

Job Description

We’re looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and enthusiasm. A passion for good food is essential. We are willing to teach everything we know about cheese and in a supportive, fun environment.

  • Work with marketing manager to create daily, weekly and monthly in-store and online promotions
  • Assist with farm tour schedules and guides as well as ongoing events.
  • Master company menus and be able to prepare and fill orders
  • Manage store inventory, work with supervisor on reordering and keeping proper items in stock
  • Continue to learn and develop skills in regards to cheese serving, platters, terminology, history, etc
  • Communicate with other team members about daily tasks and fill in where needed

Home Delivery and Distribution Driver

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a driver to help us get our ridiculously good cheeses and other locally sourced products to the homes of our customers as well as our wholesale accounts. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality. Of note, you are courteous and considerate, understanding that your regular interaction with our customers is a reflection upon our brand.

Our home delivery driver needs to be available for full days as routes normally include 20 or so stops and run typically from 6:00am-6:00pm.  We deliver primarily Wednesdays but during holidays or special times, we may add another day to the week depending on work load.

All drivers are placed on our insurance and use our company vehicle for deliveries: GMC Savana.  We also use a program to set up all delivery routes that we provide drivers to track them through the day for both efficiency and driver safety and peace of mind.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the accurate & timely distribution of many deliveries and pick-ups daily
  • Maintains delivery logs 
  • Make last minute deliveries after regular route on occasion
  • Understands and acts on the importance of temperature control for perishable products
  • Facilitate feedback as necessary between accounts and RHC team
  • Maintain functionality and cleanliness of RHC’s delivery van
  • Exercise strict adherence to city parking and traffic regulations
  • Communicate promptly, effectively and respectfully with all accounts and members of the RHC team
  • Support Parlor with assistance for special events as necessary

Qualifications — Required

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Must have clean background check
  • Friendly and personable
  • Prompt, responsible and reliable 
  • Must exhibit good judgement
  • Thinks and moves quickly in a fast paced environment with many moving parts
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs throughout the day
  • Ability to read spreadsheets and use computers a plus! 
  • Wednesday delivery routes, with possibility of additional routes
